About Jens
After more than 30 years on the music scene in Jämtland, Sweden, Jens Gustavson continues to create music that refuses to be confined to a single genre. His songs are difficult to define, drawing influences from a wide range of musical traditions, often with a subtle touch of melancholy.
The lyrics are always at the heart of Jens’ music. His words carry the songs, setting the mood, shaping the sound, and bringing the stories to life.
These are songs that work just as well stripped down to their essence, performed with nothing but an acoustic guitar, as they do fully electrified with a rock band behind them.
Rock, singer-songwriter, country, progressive rock, and folk music meet and blend into something of its own.
It’s independent music made on a small scale, but with big ideas and even bigger ambitions.

The songs are a collection of observations, reflections, and stories touching on subjects such as the impact of social media on our lives, the urge to create despite everything, the feeling that everything is part of a conspiracy, and gardening at night…
Trådar och spår från då och sedan was recorded at Rissna City Studio and in Gusta, Brunflo.

About the album Vissa dagar (2025)
Jens makes Swedish singer-songwriter rock, sometimes with a touch of good old-fashioned Swedish prog. Every now and then, he dares to push the boundaries, walking a tightrope between indie rock and theatrical music. I like the honesty and the raw vulnerability.
From my personal point of view, after listening to this project, I can officially say I am now a fan of Swedish American-style folk. / /I love everything — the visual identity, the sonic textures, and especially the choice to sing in his native language, which I deeply respect.
Vissa dagar is a quiet success. It’s a beautifully made, honest album that shines a light on both the struggles inside us and the worries we see outside in the world.
About the album Illusionisten (2023)
It’s a beguiling and often brilliant album that merges the alternative sonic worlds of the likes of P J Harvey, and Kurt Weill with more accessible rock moves.
Alt-alt-rock? Yes, I reckon so.

Jens Gustavson has taken on Nick Cave as a teacher, but has pushed the boat further up into the stream than their musical predecessor would’ve allowed it to go.
